THE PROFESSIONAL

This incident happened while I was on a business trip to Manila in the Philippines.

I had just finished dinner in an Italian restaurant. To get back to my hotel which was almost opposite the restaurant, I needed to walk about a hundred metres along the road, over a foot bridge and then another 100 metres back to the hotel.

As I descended onto the pavement from the footbridge a man who appeared to be local and perhaps in his early thirties sidled up beside me and kept pace as I walked. He then engaged me in the following conversation.

"Hello sir, would you mind if I ask what is your name?".

I told him my name and asked him what his name was.

He replied "My name is Yesus, I am very pleased to meet you. Would you mind telling me where you are from?".

I told him where I was from, and asked him where he was from. He told me he was from Manila. We were getting very close to the hotel by now.

He then asked "Would you mind answering just one last question? What is your profession?".

I told him my profession and asked him what his profession was.

He replied "I am a pimp, would you like a young lady?".
